The White Lion Nantwich Food Festival

Cooking Up a Storm

The Nantwich Food Festival, held each year over the first weekend of September, is a showcase of local and international food and drink, bringing together visitors from near and far. This year, The White Lion Weston made a serious splash, serving up more than just mouth-watering dishes.

Swift has been working with The White Lion since 2021, providing a range of digital marketing services, from social media to email marketing campaigns. Our latest collaboration for the Nantwich Food Festival took our partnership to a whole new level, with The White Lion planning to host a live interactive cook-a-long tent at the event. The goal was to spotlight their fantastic food as well as tease some of the exciting events coming up on their calendar.

A Brief Packed with Punch

The brief was simple yet powerful: encapsulate everything The White Lion offers – food, accommodation and event space – onto a small number of banners. The creative needed to be visually striking without overwhelming the audience – The White Lion’s brand identity having a natural aesthetic charm. Our job was to ensure this came across clearly, while still grabbing the attention of the festival goers amidst the bustling energy of the event.

from design to reality

Designing with Precision

Our design process was led by James and Conner, each playing a critical role in bringing the vision to life. James took the reins on creating the tent’s banners & site gantry banners, ensuring they commanded attention. Meanwhile, Conner handled the roller banners, which provided supporting visuals and key messaging that would intrigue the public.

One of the more technical challenges was maintaining a balance between design aesthetics and functionality. General legibility was a top priority, ensuring that all information was easy to read from varying distances. We also put a focus on disciplined spacing, which made the designs look professional and clean, also ensuring that the icons remained uniform in height for cohesion across all materials. It’s the kind of attention to detail that separates good design from great design.

Fast-Tracking to Festival Frenzy

The project kicked off on the 1st of June, with the deadline for banner delivery looming on the 4th of July – less than five weeks to create, finalise, and have the designs printed. Our team, well-versed in handling high-pressure timelines, didn’t miss a beat. The banners were delivered on time, giving The White Lion plenty of opportunity to prepare for the big weekend.

The Event

The White Lion Weston was delighted to be part of the tremendous success of the Nantwich Food Festival, where the buzzing atmosphere and lively crowd created an unforgettable experience. Engaging with the public in such a dynamic setting allowed the venue to showcase its offerings while connecting with food enthusiasts from across the region. The festival’s enthusiastic reception highlighted the community’s love for great food, drink, and togetherness, and the team was incredibly proud to have been involved. They look forward to future opportunities to celebrate with the local community, and we look forward to assisting in their endeavours.
